Some people have hobbies, Some people have passions. Horse people have lives. Horse lives. They give up vacations, lose hours of sleep and scrimp and save to be with horses more.
Karen Jones lives horses: a horse rider trainer and horse philosopher. Her insight, knowledge, and techniques change horses and her students. Karen demonstrates an encyclopedic knowledge of horse physiology, anatomy, and psychology. she has a long view about horses from years of education and riding.
Karen came to my home to use a small round corral with one of her students. My skepticism may have been palpable. My thoughts were, “Oh here we go another trainer with a hook.”
My experience was far from that. What I saw was a remarkable change in rider and horse within minutes of the student implementing Karens’ suggestion. I watched first with casual interest Then, I became riveted while the horse blew out and relaxed into the suggestion of the student as guided by Karen.
Karen comes to a student with a remarkable understanding of reinforcement theory. She specializes in positive reinforcement techniques. These techniques have demonstrated remarkable change in even the most intractable behaviors and Karen has created an art with this science, creating responsive malleable and calm horses.
Karen Jones as a teacher is patient and calming, but most of all she can change a student’s riding, liberty or online work with a horse very quickly. Karen creates an atmosphere of respect for the students’ skills and goals. Karen comes to each lesson ready to fully support your horsemanship and riding objectives.
As with horses, Karen never forces but guides rider and horse with patience and perseverance towards excellence.
